What resolution is a camcorder, and will a digital camera with 640x480 video be as good?

Also if i get a HD camcorder -- how will i actually use the HD video captured, as i do not have a HD-DVD burner.

You can't

If you have a fast computer and expensive software like Premier Pro, Avid Prod, Vegas+DVD you can load it, edit it and render it as both HDV and SDV. You can then makes DVDs off the SDV AVI files.

You can then SAVE the HDV files until a future date when Blu Ray or HD DVD comes to burners, probably in 2009
