I need a new digital camera, any suggestions??

I now have a Kodak easy share cx7300. We liked it, but dropped it a few too many times. I want one with a bigger screen. I want to pay $400 at the most. Something good but easy to use would be nice.

I would go to Cnet.com and look for reviews on digital cameras.They review cameras, but also have user opinions which I find more helpful than the actual review.Nice thing about Cnet is that they show sellers and all their prices.

Minolta and Olympus are good brands. They take great pictures. Try them. Look for one in your budget range.

I love the Casio Exilim. I have the SD600 but they have a newer model.

The more megs the better, I have a Sony Cyber-shot It's easy and takes great pics, but it goes through batteries like chocolate.

get a cannon. they are the best cameras on the market. i had a fujifilm then went to cannon and its the best camera ever.

they are really good quality-i have the cannon powershot SD600 with 6.0 megapixels

AND the battery is chargable...you dont have to eat through double A'S

I have this camera and it is so user friendly and takes awesome pics!!
It takes AA batteries and I bought rechargacle ones. They last 10x longer than basic AA.

Check Consumer Reports Nov'06 ay your local library. My daughter and I have these cameras. Sony CyberShot DSC-H2 can be bought for about $300. 6 megapixels, 12X optical zoom, image stabilizer, great on batteries,comes with batteries and charger, 1 sec delay between shots and makes excellent 8X10s when enlarged. Fugifilm FinePix S5200 paid $237. 5MP, 10X optical zoom, 1 sec delay between shots; excellent on batteries. Makes excellent 8X10's also when enlarged. Only 1.8 in lcd screen on each.
Whatever camera you buy, buy one which has a viewfinder. For if you just use the lcd screen it will drain your batteries a lot quicker. Hope I helped a little.

I've been reading the comment: "The more megs the better." Well, the megapixles only matter if you plan on blowing up the pictures to almost life size. If you don't plan on ever doing that, then stick with a 5-6 megapixel camera. Canon has affordable cameras with many features, allowing you to take pictures creatively and learn how to get beyond the point and shoot features of others, but they are quite bulky usually. Sony is a good line, but they use their own set of batteries and memory card, which can be a nuissance. My suggestion to you is to go to a store like Best Buy or Walmart and just try out the cameras. You'll know when you find the right one.

No matter the price range, the best cameras on the market in my opinion are the Canons. I have been into photography and imaging for a number of years and you simply cannot beat their lens quality, ease of use, and compatibility. Get the most megapixels you can for your money.
