It stopped working shortly after its swim. I took it apart & see rust & chakly deposits on a few of the connectors. Tempted to use "CLR" (household cleaning product - Calcium, Lime & Rust-away) to try to clean it. Au contraire, I've had pretty good success reviving radios and cell phones that have gone for an "unplanned swim". Never had occassion to try this on a camera, though.
Pull the batteries out as quickly as possible to prevent damage from "shorts". Rinse in clean water. Let dry thoroughly --four days to a week -- before reinstalling the batteries. Drying can be sped up if you have access to a vacuum chamber. You asked this a week ago, if it is not working now it never will. Sorry about your camera. Next time you bring a digital camera near a pool put it in a baggy or even better buy a water proof cover for it. Cell phones and cameras rarely recover from water damage. |
