How do you date stamp a photo from digital camera?

I am using a w-50 cybershot (sony), even though the date stamp in on in the camera's lcd screen, it does not appear when the pictures get transferred to computer. What is the best way to include it?

Except to ruin part of the image with that information, there is no reason to add this information on the photo.

The EXIF 2.2 file records this information each time you take a photo. In the File Info feature in Photoshop that information will be show. In addition all the settings of your camera (shutter speed, f/stop, color balance, etc) are shown and if you have a Nikon DSLR and use the Image Comment feature, so will that information be embedded in the file.

Most people don't want to detract from the photo but I've added in the date/time stamp in Microsoft Digital Image Suite Editor.
