I want to get a sub-compact (small) digital camera. any advice on brand/model?

i can use basically whatever technology, it doesn't have to be a camera for dummies, but i want to know if anyone has had a really good camera (or a really bad one) from a certain brand or model of a specific brand. like i said, i just want a small camera (with a relatively big LCD screen) to just have around for me and my friends (i'm a teenager) or whatever else. any advice is appreciated!

I got an Olympus for about 100$ at Radio Shack that might suit you. But it didn't quite do all that I would want so, the next year I spent about 300$ for a Canon SD700IS that I am very pleased with.
The Olympus seems more durable while the Canon more fragile. Be careful they are not toys to toss around.
