I currently have the kodak easyshare z650, which is a great camera for taking scenic or artistic pictures, but I want a relatively simple camera that is more flattering on people, since I will mostly use it for my friends and I. It's not the camera but the lense and lighting that make the difference. Pick up a good photography book on taking portraits. That should help. I was at a seminar where the instructor made some photos with a $15 camera that blew away those taken with $3,000 ones. my suggestion
