Is there any way to retrieveyour photos from a corrupted digital camera memory card?

I used a San Disk 2.0 Gig card and all of a sudden, the camera could not take shots ( it took only about 20 shots prior to this), and it indicated that the memory card is in "error". I got the same result from my HP Photosmart printer when I tried to print out the pictures. Please help me - those photos are precious to me - you know how it is! Thanks.

Another option is to try a card reader to see if that will work. Unfortunately, when data is corrupt, it is pretty difficult to retrieve.
