How to use the panorama mode on a digital camera?Panarama mode usually involves you taking a picture with your camera, the left or right portion of which stays on your display screen so you can line the next section of the picture up with it. You can therefore take many pictures side by side and end up with 360deg picture. try to hold it steady and be aware that most cameras fix the picture type/ flash/focal point on the first picture so if you have a close object in the first part of the panarama then you will have a short focus for the rest of the pictures.
Don't worry about being too acurate as when you read these photos on to a computer and us a "panarama maker" package, the lineing up of the pictures is done for you. Depends on the model but on mine (and I use a tripod) you:
1. set to panoramic mode and take shot 1
2. pan the camera right or left to the point that the edge moves to nearly the edge of the previous shot (allow a bit of overlap) - some cameras have a ghost image to allow better lining up)
3. repeat step until you are done.
HP has a great bit of software for automatically bolting the shots together and lining them up properly (called panorama maker)
