Is there a way to directly transfer digital media from a camera to a USB jump drive without use of a PC/laptop

I really don't have money to buy more flash memory for my digital camera and I will soon be taking a multiweek trip overseas where I most certainly will not have any access to a computer and will not be bringing one with me. I'm wondering if there is some easy inexpensive ($20 or less) portable solution for transferring a camera's digital images directly to a USB type storage device or jump drive - ie without the use of a laptop or pc. Unfortunately, I like to keep many of the digital photos I've taken on my flash card permanently 'protected' so I can, via my digital camera's display, share them with friends and relatives. This will probably lead to the memory space on my flashcard dwindling down to probably nothing well before my trip will be over. I'm hoping I can make use of the USB jump drive devices that I already have to store some of the new images that I will be snapping. Thanx for your responses.

A few ideas - 1) It is not wise to keep valuable photos on your flash card any longer than necessary - sometimes these cards just quit working. 2) In most civilized parts of the world you should be able to get your flash card downloaded to a CD or DVD inexpensively - some hotels will do it. 3)Consider the quality setting you are shooting at - it is amazing the different amount of pix you get at different quality settings - do not forget you can change this setting pix to pix if desired. 4) If this is the trip of a lifetime, or close to it, you should definitely have a back up flash card - just in case.

there is "Nexto"(Korea) which is exactly you are searching for.
you can buy it in USA via ebay.
that kind tech is called "OTG"
you have to check if it's possible to transfer data via USB from your camera to HDD. I believe only nexto works for it currently. Report It

yes there is a lexar device thumb drive which accepts the sd media directly so you put the card from your camera into it and transfer the pics to whatever device you want and it is available at amazon new and used for under 20
