Use the hi resolution of digital camera instantly on tv?

most of the digital cameras have output resolutions (ccd at 2M+) greater than most of the tv, but most of the digital cameras don't have a high resolution output eg. s-video

The reason is that the TV only has a resolution of about VGA, there is no point the camera sending out a higher resolution picture than the TV can display. The situation will change when HD screens become available
