Easy Digital Camera?

I am buying my mom a digital camera for mothers day and I need some oppinions on a easy-to-use or easy-to-learn digital camera. She is not very tech savy but I want something that takes really good pictures as well. Something in the $300.00 or less range.

oh yes, there is the Sony CyberShot DSC S500, it is Sony's basic camera, anybody is able to use it, as a matter of fact I have one myself, it has great flash, the photo quality is great; the pixels become compressed so that you don't lack any quality in any of your photos, and it is a 6 megapixel camera must I mention, this lets you stretch pictures without it being blurry. It is very easy to operate, it has a mode selector wheel, and each mode does exactly what it was made for, so you don't have to do any manual adjusting, the screen is large and legible so you cacn see pictures easily as for it is 2.5 inches. Video quality is also great takes up to 30 frames per minute. Oh, and by the way it has built in memory good for 300 pictures or 15 minutes of video. You can get this little camera at CirCuitCity. I got mine for $179.99, now you can get it for $175, or $169

If you want to check out certain cameras that are recommended here, I suggest that you go to http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/ as they provide fair and in-depth analysis. One of the cameras I checked there for you was the Kodak C875. It is priced at $199 but has awesome qualities for a beginner. It also takes great pictures at normal range.

For those recommended here, I suggest that you check it out if they have been reviewed over at the site mentioned. It will really help you make an informed decision. If it gets too technical, just click on the next page until you go to the last page where the conclusion is provided.
