I want a digital Camera?

Ok so I want a digital camera for myself to use but I dont know what kind to get. I will be using this for most taking pics of family and friends. I would like to keep it below $200 but 250 is okay with me. I will also be getting my father a digital photo frame to put all the pics I have taken over the course of the year for his Christams. Any Idea on what I could get. Try too kep it small

It dosent have to be easy to use because I am a techy and I know how to do stuff, but easy is ok

I just got done leaving this answer for someone else.......

Get the Canon Powershot SD1000, which is just a bit over $200 if you stick to the all-silver model. It's 7.1 MP, too.

Canon SD1000 (IXUS 70): http://www.steves-digicams.com/2007_revi...
- Also: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Ca... Go there and click on "Read Owner Opinions."

As far as the digital frames, start shopping on eBay and see what you come up with. You can also check out B&H Photo, even if it's only as a reference source to start learning what's out there. You will have to spend a couple hundred to get a nice frame that you would be pleased to give as a gift.

You're welcome! It looks like a good camera. Report It

Check out the Cannon SureShot. This is a good camera with enough mega pixels to take nice family & friend shots. It is also in your price range.

you could find cheap and really cool ones at wallmart.com or yahoo.com. they're really nice.

Nikon coolpix are good quality and simple

There is the Sony T-50 and under. The series is superb takes great quality pictures is sleek and slim, easy to use and is touch screen. The camera is a bit more expensive believe 300. But it's worth it. Go to J and R or Best Buy and try the camera out. You won't be disappointed. I paid 400 for mine and since then it has dropped 100 bucks since Xmas.

check out ebay.....or try Walmart..or a Kmart....they may have some that are cheaper and still work quite well..check them out on-line and compare prices....then go to consumer reports and check for best digital cameras...by brand, price and always comparison shop when investing in something you'll be using allot of and/or is costly.try..Bestbuy or even Target...sometime even your local trader mart.(ya know the buy-sell-or trade shops..)

i bought the panasonic dmc-fz7 and it's fantastic. the only reason i bought it was because i was fed up with the cheaper cameras because they take so long to start up, take the picture, then you have to hold the camera still while the camera records it and then wait for it to reset and be ready to take another picture. but saying all that, i cant believe the features of this camera and it's fantastic!! you can get some excellent night shots to, of the moon and stars.

you get what you paid for!

I have a Sony Cybershot and I love it. Mine is 4.1 mega pixel but I've had it for a few years and now they have higher mega pixel's and they're not too expensive.

I didn't need to download any software to upload my pics, just hook it up to my pc with the usb cable it's real easy. It has many adjustments like to make your pics smaller for emailing, taking small videos, timer for self portraits. etc.
It's also pretty durable. I've dropped it and banged it up a little.

I searched on Walmart.Com and found a few:
Sony Cybershot 7.2 Megapixel for $124.54

Good luck!

Even though I personally own this camera, I would still like to highly recommend the purchase of a Nikon Coolpix L10 for the following reasons:

1. Besides taking well-exposed hi-quality 5 megapixel pictures, it uses a standard set of rechargeable double AA batteries which last a very long time;
2. Has a 3x optical zoom;
3. The flash setting for "red-eye" correction is on the navigator wheel and not within a submenu;
4. It's very small and light;
5. Uses inexpensive SD memory cards;
6. The digital video feature takes wonderful "sound" videos which are noise free. It records the piano very well with it's built-in microphone;
7. It comes with a USB 2.0 transfer cable which you connect to your USB computer port;
8. And the price is a mere $120 [sold at Samy's Camera, Staples.com.]

Good luck!

Definitely Canon or Nikon. Check out cnet.com or/and dpreview.com. They have nice reviews there and you can see the highly recommended cameras.

my suggestion
go to yahoo shopping

the guide should answer your questions

Casio Z75 is a great choice, nice and thin, lightweight, shoots photos and video with sound. Easy to use controls and a 2.5" screen to view.

Try www.besybuy.com, www.samys.com, ww.costco.com
Recommmend a Scandisk memory card.
