Looking to buy my first digital camera. Any suggestions for not too expensive,easy to use, first camera?

As far as a specific camera, I can't think of one. But coming from a professional photographer, I would say the BEST brand to start out with would be Canon. It is then number one brand that I recommend to anyone who asks me this question. I have the Fujifilm Finepix F10 and I've been extremely happy with it so I'd recommend its sequel, the F30.
Good:
1. Very good low light performance
2. Very good flash performance
3. Very good macro mode
4. Decent movie mode (with sound)
5. Very good battery performance
6. It's compact.
Bad:
1. It's several hundred dollars.
