This is for a preschool where each teacher has a classroom camera used to journal the progress of each child. They're put through the ringer and I'm constantly sending cameras for repairs. Any suggestions on what cameras are most durable? Olympus Stylus 720SW
Shoch proof (5 ft), water proof (10ft), metal body, it should be able to handle most "kids".
<<Less than 0.8" thick, this versatile, compact digital camera is designed with the signature style and performance for which the Stylus line is renowned with the added benefits of Shock and Waterproof technology - perfect for any situation, durable enough for shooting in any conditions. From hiking, surfing and skiing to parties and Little League games, the solid, shock-absorbing design combines with waterproof sealants to deliver clear, vibrant pictures of whatever, whenever, wherever. >> sony Fuji F10 is pretty durable. It's not the prettiest or most compact of digital camera, but it takes a great picture and is reasonably priced. Hope that is of help! I just bought myself a Nikon Coolpix S6.
It takes AMAZING pictures and it has a big screen to easily see the pictures right away. Its tough, even though it looks really delicate. I dropped it on the nasty, broken conrete floor of a public restroom in Washington DC. It went down (screen side down) with a bang AND slid across the floor and came out without even a scratch. Not even on the screen. I couldnt believe it.
This is definately a camera worth taking a look at! most digital cameras aren't that durable because they're digital. film cameras can take a lickin' and keep tickin.
I must say that I've found much success with Canon cameras. I'm on my third Canon digital (A60, A95, and now SD700). i only buy new ones because the later models have better features. but all my cameras still work. i have a canon SD450 and its the best thing i have purchased....i dont leave home without it... Sony cameras are realy durable and have good efficient battery usage.. i personally use one (Sony Cybershot).. hav used in rain/ snow and works jus perfect.. Sony is a Sony! |
