How many pictures can a digital camera take using AA baterry ?

Are you trying to find out how many pictures you can take before the AA batteries die?

It depends.

If you use the flash, it will kill the battery a lot faster. If you zoom in and out a lot, or spend lots of time looking through pictures you already took, it will kill the battery faster. But generally, in my experience, standard alkaline batteries are good for 100-200 pictures.

To get the best mileage out of batteries, invest in rechargeables. Sony has some really powerful ones that are lasting me for well over 1000 pictures per charge; you can buy a four pack with an included charger for about $30. You'll spend that much replacing regular batteries in no time; get these rechargeables and you'll not buy batteries for years and you'll have a longer duration between charges as well. Not to mention, you'll be doing soemthing good for the environment by not throwing away batteries every couple days or weeks.

Depends on how much memory the memory card can hold and how manu megapixels your camera is. There should be a chart on the back of the package your memory card came in showing how many pictures your camera can hold according to megapixels.

The amount of pictures a camera can take has nothing to do with the battery. Its all about the memory card. The bigger the memory card, the more pictures you can take.

As to how long the batteries will last, that all depends on how much you use the camera. Cameras do tend to use up battery power faster then say a portable cd player.

Seriously - depends on many factors, even on the same camera. The resolution, whether or not you have the LCD display on, etc.

For example the same camera with the camera on the lowest resolution with the LCD off could take 400 pictures. But turn on the LCD and set it for the highest resolution, and the batteries may only last 50 pictures.

Thats all depends on the types of camera, wether or not you have a memory card, how many megapixels you're using, etc.

If you use flash all the time and constantly have the display running, your battery life will not be as long. Use the flash only when you have to (auto) and use the viewfinder to take the picture, not the screen, if you have the choice.

As for batteries, consider rechargeables. The Energizers from the link below are awesome in power hungry electronics. I use them in my camera, and Wii remotes. They also come with a 15 minutes charger which means downtime is limited. Best investment I ever made.

buy the strongest batteries you can, use your flash as little as possible, and don't leave you camera on if you don't intend to take another picture for awhile.

important information: AA batteries are small enough that you could stick a couple in a little bag attached to your camera cover, in your sock or even in your bra. just carry a couple with you.

Depends on the camera you're using, as well as the batteries. I've had a couple that needed new batteries after 30-50 pictures. Now, I have a better camera and I use rechargable AA batteries. I take 350+ before I have to recharge them. The LCD screen on the back of the camera takes a lot of juice. To extend the baterries' life, turn the screen off, and look through the viewfinder, like you would on a film camera.
