Do I need to have a special webcam so people could see me on the messenger, or I could use my digital camera?

some digital cameras will work as a webcam if you get the software to decode it for the messenger service,msn doesnt have minolta digital cam software so mine wouldnt work for msn messenger.
there are several web cams around rather inexpensive, but you wont get the quality from a web cam a digital camera will give.some digital cameras can be plugged directly into the computer or tv also if your computer monitor as the extra connections, and use it this way also and simply save over the shots into a photo files and then send them after reaccessing the file

You can either use a digi cam (provided it says so) or a webcam. (but I prefer web cam because the resolution is much brighter than digicams.)

well i think u need a web camera cause u can easily connet it 2 d intrnet(tat is y its called a web cam)web cam can caputre movin pic wereas digicam can only capture still images.

U can use any of it provided ur digicam supports the feature. Today's digicam provides higher resolution than any other web cam (Practically the best way). U need to connect ur camera with data-cable to USB port and configure the settings provided with your cam software to get started.
