If i DELETE something from my digital camera....?

if i delete something from my digital camera that uses a memory stick pro duo...would it be possible to retrieve it? thankyou

the thing is i DONT want it to be retrieved....
i wanted to know if i delete something, is it permantly gone? i dont want anyone to see it

I highly doubt it. did you save it online? maybe you can view it there and order copies

when you delete from hard disk, file is still there, just not visible. it will only be gone if over-written by new files.
but im not sure if its the same with the memory sticks.

anyway, just try and search google or download.com for undelete programs. there are a couple out there.

iunno like i clicked delete format and iunno how to get them back.

i know on my camera when i hit delete i have a option to pull up the last deleted pic! omg i hope theres no way u can pull up all of them

No, you cannot retrieve deleted photos from a memory stick and no-one else can see them once deleted from a memory stick unlike photos deleted from the hard drive of a PC.

Generally deleting a file only removes the directory entry, which can be recreated by a file recovery program. Only if you write over the files with new photos will they be permanently erased. There used to be disk wipe utilities for hard disks that achieved this by writing junk to the areas that were erased so that there was nothing to recover. I haven't heard of anything similar for memory sticks.

However, for most normal use, deleting the files and then filling the memory stick with something else should be sufficient.
