Do you need a memory card to use a digital camera?

It really depends on the kind of digital camera...

But in most cases especially in the better quality cameras the answer is yes. However some of them only use a USB connection...

depends on the type of camera...my first one used floppy disks lol but any camera you would buy now would probably use a memory card cuz its so much easier to use.

I have a digital camera and yes you do need a memory card.

Not all cameras need memory cards, but it is recomended if you want to be able to take more than 12 or so pictures. You'll have to look and see what the camera has for internal memory. Mine has enough internal memory to save about 12 pictures, but also has a slot for an SD card which allows you to take many more. Also a card provides easier transfer to the computer via a card reader.

Memory cards extend the memory on your camera, but they also can be taken out and replaced with a new one, if you want to start a library of sorts.

Better look into a memory card if you want to take more than 10-15 shots.
