Can I use any digital camera with a Mac or do I need to make sure the camera is Mac compatible? All of the images (JPEG, TIFF or RAW) on a digital camera are compatible with Mac. Just don't try formatting your memory card with it. Use only the format feature in your cameras menu. You can use any digital camera with a Mac, but the best way to get your pictures on to your computer is with a card reader. Card readers are inexpensive ($10 to $20). They plug into a USB port on your computer. When you want to download pictures to the computer, you put your camera's memory card into the card reader, and the computer will treat it like another hard drive. If you use your camera to download directly to the computer, you have to be careful that its batteries don't go dead in the middle of a download. Card readers don't require batteries. any camera |
