How many pictures can a 256MB SD card hold when used with a 6.1 MP Digital Camera?

For 6 MP, it ranges from 70 to over 700, depending on the size and quality you choose. For a 6 MP Nikon dSLR, the book says a JPEG NORMAL will put 233 images on a 256 KB card. This is a file size of less than 1 MB. For the largest size, best quality, the file size would be about 3 MB or more, so you could fit about 70-80.

If you use setting of 6 MP, you should get close to 80 shots.
