What kind of camera was "Bad Taste" filmes with? This was Peter Jacksons 1st film and it was a low budget movie which he worked on weekends for a period of 4 years.

Why I want to know is because I am going to be a film-maker aswell, and would like to start off with a nice low budget movie as he did.

I know the professional cameras used today on movies can cost up to $80,000 dollars, but Peter Jackson would of purchased a much cheaper one back then.

So how much money should I spend to get a good camera? I have around AU$8,000 in the bank right now and I am 15, so I assume when I finish high school I will have around $8,500-$9000 unless I work(unlikely) I would get way more.

Bad Taste was shot with a Super 16mm Bolex Camera. This is quite a common camera for film students.

You can buy one for about $4-8000 depending on the model.

It was a Super 16, 16mm camera with mono audio and a 1.66:1 aspect ratio. The 16mm negative was developed to 35mm blow up for release. If you had spent a little time looking, rather than being an offensive and dismissive jerk, you would have gotten it yourself.
