Does it matter what printer you use for your camera?

i am looking for a printer for my camera. its a polaroid. im just wondering if you have to get the same name brand or if you can just get anything. please let me know. thank you very much.

A printer that's specifically designed to print out for photos would be a good choice. You can start surfing for HP Photo Printers or any other printer that is equivalent to it.
Just make sure that when printing your photos from your camera, you use the glossy paper for quality output.
Hope that helps. Enjoy! :D

As the others have said, you can get any inkjet printer which produces photo quality output. I recommend Epson cx series scanner/copier/printer (cx7400/cx8400) because of the print quality and the warranty. For a year Epson will express-ship a replacement and pick up the old one. Ink cartridges are expensive, but you can get cheap replacements for $5 which work well here http://ccs-digital.com/ink.asp
You can find the printers at buy.com, usually in the $60-$70 range BEFORE any rebates, if applicable. These printers also accept digital media cards so you can print without a computer.

Images from a digital camera are usually jpegs.
Any inkjet printer will print them.
Polaroid usually means instant photo producing cameras, not digital.
