What is the best waterproof digital camera on the market?

Must be $200-$400 and have video. I am going to the Virgin Islands in 2 weeks and will be doing a lot of snorkeling. I want a camera that is good for regular use but will hold up to extended exposure to water.

Check out the Olympus Stylus 850SW. Waterproof to 10 feet and shockproof to a 5 foot drop. Its an 8mp camera. $299

The 1030SW is waterproof to 33 feet and shockproof to a 6.6 foot drop. It has 10.1mp. Its also crushproof to 220 pounds. $399

I have a Canon SD1100 IS and I love it! It's an easy point-and-shoot camera with a sleek design and tons of features. Only cons I can think of right now is the lack of zoom (3x, but what can you expect from a compact?) and the lack of aperture control. You should check that one out.

For making it waterproof, Canon sells the waterproof case for the camera. The camera is fairly new and still sells for $250, and the waterproof case is $240. Total is $490. It's $90 over your budget, but if you look at the camera and think it is good for you, go for it!

Or you know what, the Canon Powershot SD1000 is also a good camera. This is the predecessor to the aforementioned camera. It sells for about $180 dollars now, and the waterproof case for it is $240. That will total to $420. That's closer to your budget!
