Different camera view same sound?

How do movies change the camera view while keeping the same sound tack?

for example you would see 2 people talking and the camera view would switch between them but the you would hear them talk at the same time, do they use multiple cameras or something?

"pdxphil" has made the point that the sound is recorded on separate equipment, independent of the camera(s) So, if a scene includes a shot of the actors from across the street, then in close up, and then as seen from a nearby rooftop, the recorded dialoge need not be affected.

Also understand that very often, dialoge is dubbed in AFTER the filming. If a scene is shot on a very noisy street, or adjacent to a loud noise scource, the actors can be called into a recording studio to repeat the dialoge, being very careful to syncronize what they are saying to the lip movements on the screen. Technicians then add just enough "fake" background noises to help make the scene believable.

In most cases, especially in movies, multiple cameras will be used in one take, allowing several angles to be achieved, whilst there is only one audio track recorded. Note that the sound is recorded separately and not by the camera.

In TV where the budget is lower and fewer cameras are available, the scene is often shot several times from a different perspective, with only one audio track being used. You can often see actors lips out of time with the words being spoken because of this.
