I am interested in becoming a photographer. What is the first step. already graduated from college.?

I have done 5 weddings...but I would rather do black and white nature..I know that this is my purpose but I keep getting wedding stuff and I don't know how to progress into nature..just need a push in the right direction...Sometimes when I look at pictures online and magazines, I know I can do better than them...I just need a push..

As long as you have the skills and experience you next need to work for a few years with a photographer as his/her assistant. By then you will have learned the business end of photography as well as all the contacts you will need to be a successful photographer

I forgot to ask. While you were in college, how much photography did you take? As long as you can use cameras from view to 35mm to DSLR's and can control your exposure in all types of lighting you will be on your way. A good book will be essential.

Well, the best way is to just go out, always have your camera in hand and build up a portfolio. Once you have enough photos you like, show them in a small boutique, or shop. Just get your work out there.
The only thing I can think to add is to not do what everyone else is doing. If you want to do B&W nature work then do it, but look for a unique approach. People don't want to buy photos that they themselves have already taken.
It all comes down to money.

Weddings pay, trees do not.

If you can afford to wander in the woods, go do it.
