Best make up brand(s) for photography? |
What are some of the best brands of make up out there for photography? Tell me what you like about them specifically. I will be working for a wedding photographer soon and want the highest quality make up for these special photos. Thanks i like everything from chanel and dior and nars. their makeup can go from natural looking to dramatic runway looking. whatever you put on, it looks great indoors and outdoors and under lighting. in photos, the makeup looks almost perfect (almost bc there is no such thing as perfect) it feels natural, not heavy, lasts a long time, no smearing or fading..... my faves: ligloss-nars in orgasm, dior lipgloss, and chanel glossimer (i'm addicted to all of them!!) lipstick-dior (they have many different kinds) lipliner- nars (very natural) blush-nars in orgasm foundation-chanel (illuminating with spf) powder- chanel concealer-dior bronzer- dior or nars mascara- diorshow blackout or chanel inimitable eyeliner-chanel eyeshadow-nars or chanel (nars is sheerer while chanel is more pigmented) you should try a combination of these three brands for a flawless picture! good luck :) Source(s): experience Any proffesional/high end brands are great! But you actually have to be careful b/c there is even seperate photography make up w/ in make up brands...i suggest MAC or Smashbox just so you can use the make up after the photo's, but make sure to talk to an artist in depth about the many ways/uses of what you are going to purchase! MAC COSMETICS: -amazing colour range (from palest to deepest tones) -special effects range -great under any lighting -reasonable price -variety of finishes -very long lasting -originally film makeup! I take photo imaging, and I have found that the makeup that works the best is Revlon or Cover Girl. Between the two, there's enough shades that it SHOULD cover it. Almay is pretty good too. DEFINATLEY need a foundation. Skin photographs/videotapes kinda grayish without it. A liquid foundation with a thin powder foundation layer to finish it is best. Brands to avoid: NY Color. It smudges too much. any little thing you find in the holiday section at Wal Mart Bonne Bell. Little girl. Not enough color. I agree with the answerers. I also wanna add VOV cosmetics. Their makeup are usually used for stage plays because they are long wearing and can easily adapt to different lights. It was also suggested by a professional makeup artist I saw on tv last month regarding good makeup brands for weddings. So check it out! But as a general rule, as long as it's expensive, it's good for photography..or any events using harsh or extreme lights. I have interviewed a makeup artist and a beauty editor for my thesis last year and they said that makeup artists (like you) usually use the expensive ones because they contain high quality pigments.
