How should I cancel with my clients? |
I am a wedding photographer and just found out I am pregnant. I have 2 weddings this will affect- one wedding I will be 8 months pregnant, and the other is actually on the due date. I am wondering if I should do this over the phone or via email, most communications have taken place via email. Oh, and of course a full deposit refund will occur immediately. Thanks! first of all, congratulations! re the weddings, it would be much more professional to speak to the couples over the phone as email can be so impersonal. However, before you do, it'd be great, and probably a real help to the couples, if you were able to suggest a replacement photographer who you would recommend? that way, the couples appreciate you telling them as soon as possible and also respect you giving them options to resolve it. Phone or meet with them...make an effort to make it as personal as possible. Well, I would give them a call. Be as honest as possible and let them know you will be unable to photograph the weddings at that time due to pregnancy due dates and so on. They will be understanding, I don't see it being an issue.
