Weddings can cost a lot or a little. Where do you live? This often plays a big factor in the price of things. I suggest calling around just to get examples of prices.

I do have a great tip for you! Seeing how you said that you want a lot of flowers, specifically mini roses, have you thought about doing them yourself? I ordered my roses online and they were soooo much cheaper. I too wanted nothing but roses. I had 500 Black Magic roses delivered to my sisters house and we arranged them ourselves. The company I used was fantastic!! I ordered a couple of bunches for my bridal shower to make sure they were nice and everything. I can't tell you enough what a pleasure it was working with them. To give you an idea of what kind of savings I'm talking about, I paid $517.50 (including shipping) for 500 premium long-stem Black Magic roses. I called several florists and they quoted me between 1750.00 and 2500.00 for the same thing through them and that was just flowers, no arranging. The company I went through was www.2groses.com. They sell spray (miniature) roses, too!

Congratulations and Good Luck!! Source(s): My own beautiful wedding on a budget!!
It really depends on where you live. Also, if you serve a dinner, that can really add up. An afternoon wedding will eliminate the need to serve a full on meal but it sounds like you already decided on an evening wedding...go for a buffet over a sitdown dinner. then. I am having a day wedding at a local park. City parks are typically pretty inexpensive but you also cannot stay there all that late...it's all a trade off.
I don't know where you live. But I will tell you the flowers & photogs will be your biggest ticket items. I spent less than $5,000 on my wedding that was 150 ppl the dress, church, minister, d.j., flowers, catering & cake. I've known them to run anywhere from $20,000 - $120,000. Just keep in mind you can have a lovely wedding for a lot less (plus you'll have the non-spent thousands of dollars for a house down payment!) Congrats & good luck.
When I got married, we only had 40 guests + the officiant and us

1) Had the wedding outside
2) No limos as the wedding was on the same property as the reception
3) bought the dress on consignment
4) had one bridesmaid/one groomsman
5) selected flowers that were in season so saved a bundle
6) only had one cake - no grooms cake
7) had a morning wedding with afternoon reception that saved a bundle.
8) dj for reception

We did have an open bar, but it was early so beyond the champagne toast, people really weren't drinking liquor. We did open because a lot of people came from out of town.

I cut corners so we could get a really good photographer and made my own centerpieces.

It still cost $10,000.
No matter how much money you throw at this, it will never be enough...

I say, have a small wedding with intimate friends/family, and stash the rest of the money in the BANK...your gonna NEED it long after the dust settles from the wedding.
It depends on you. Its good to start shopping early. Just start pricing things. It will be very helpful in the end
