Wedding Photobook Question?

Me and my wife were out looking at halls to hold the reception for our wedding. While we waited, we were looking at other couples photobooks, which were printed on hard cardboardish paper, like the kind you find in childrens books. And instead of paying the inflated price(about $200 per book estimated from his final cost) of having the photographer do it for us, we decided to see if it was cheaper to do it our selves. Since the guy is local Ive called and met with some of the local printers, none of them do that kind of printing. Ive checked with some of the smaller print companies and still nothing.

Anyone who works for a printing company or has printing knowledge know where I can find a place to quote me on some prices? Or know of a cheaper photographer/videographer than the one we found in the South Jersey/Philly area.

Hello local Philly friend.
It's called a flush mount album and to have one done properly- they run about $1,000 if your only have 1 done. Be care a lot of people use a sticker and lamination technique and it's not properly printed. Photographers normally get a better deal cause they print so many albums a year. If you haven't signed your life away to a photographer- check out mine!! You can add the flush mount to any package but it was still like $500-600 for the book and they don't charge you any mark up- that's just the printer cost.

In Addition- I just had to check out snapfish and the other one's mention- cause I would seriously have a stroke if they made them that cheap. The one my photographer has is A LOT nicer...... and looks like a children's book- not like the one's shown on the Internet. Would be a nice mother in law and mother gift though for $100! Ask your photographer how much he would be if he were to just give you the high resolution disk so you can do the printing yourselves? That's what we did. Kodak.com has the hard cover, hard pages books. Check them out.
I recommend uploading all of your pics to www.kodakgallery.com and doing it that way. You can get a nice leather book with all your pics in it for under $100!!! My husband and I had the choice to have our Photographer do it for $950, or to do it on kodakgallery... so obviously we chose the kodak gallery and the turned out great!!!! You will need to choose a photographer that gives you all of your pics on a CD, though...thats how you can upload them...
