Why are posed pictures for weddings so "80s and 90s" but wedding photojournalism is also from the 80s? |
What is Wedding Photojournalism? In 1980, Denis Reggie coined the term "weddin photojournalism" to define a genre that recognize coverage in real time by a photographer respectful of the natural occurrences and flow of the wedding day without assuming a leadership position in arranging, staging, or prompting subjects. I dont know why you are being so stubborn. We have all been telling you that we dont like your posed photos. It has nothing to do with the origins of photojournalism. They are just not good photos. And if you really want to make it as a photographer, I think you should take the criticism and learn from it. Or-- dont ask! I don't know. But, I LOVE weddng photojournalism. I think it's very beautiful. I plan on having a mixure of both for my wedding. I just love the candid shots that photojournalism produces. Althought, I've seen some amazing shots of "posed" photojournalism pictures. Why do you ask the question when you then give the definition? Tastes change and good photographers should be willing to change with those tastes. Why asking a question if you know the answer? This is not a blog and certainly , it;s not y! statements. This is self-adulation and advertising. I had spontaneous wedding day pictures and posed pictures done in 1975 My question in response to your question would be, who makes the judgment that it's "so 80's and 90's?" Pictures go by what the bride and groom want of a photographer that they hire. If they want something from the 20's then you do something from the 20's. They hire you to do what they want (to a certain extreme), not what you want to do. If they are one and the same then great, but it is not always the way it goes. You tell them what you typically do and they add or take away what they want or don't want to the list. It's quite plain and simple. Besides all of this i am getting the idea here that maybe you are trying to advertise your own name and own style on here. By asking questions about yourself you are making it something allowed on yahoo answers, which not be typically allowed. If not then i apologize for the accusation. If you are doing that then i am sure you know there are plenty of other places that advertising for free is allowed. Try searching the web. |
