Photographer pricing? |
I am looking for a decently priced photographer in Northwestern NJ or Easton, Pa area for my wedding. Any suggestions? What is the going rate for a day? I am a wedding photographer in Western PA (PIttsburgh Area). I charge $1000 (that includes all day coverage, all your proofs in an album you keep) then prints are purchased seperately per piece. Everyone is different, just make sure to check out their work and know exactly what your getting for the price involved. Some people in this area charge upwards of $2500 just to show up! Just remember, you get what you pay for. I'm a part time wedding photographer in Washington state. I have a degree in photojournalism and my wife and I charge $1000 for a starting price, which includes all day coverage, ready-to-print CD, and a bridal (or couple) portrait at a destination of your choice (before or after the wedding). Then albums and other amenities are available at extra costs. Check craigslist.com and talk to other people who are married and who they used. You can always find a photographer for a "couple hundred" dollars and you'll always have a friend that might offer to do it. A friend of mine had a "friend" do it for almost nothing and by the end of the reception the pictures where blurry because the photographer couldn't put his drink down long enough. Remember you won't be able to take these photos again so do it right the first time. And don't be afaid of going with someone that doesn't have a lot of weddings under their belt. As long as you see their work and you like it then be confident they know what they are doing. Good luck. Run from this scenario... yea, scratch, scratch, my name is uncle Bob. I ave a camera and can shoot yous guys. I'm snapping lots of pitchers of people getting hitched. I charge XXXX. What you should do is visit local professional studios around your area. Don't go to someone working out of their home. Look for a full time professional photographer who specializes in wedding, families and children. Call and schedule an appointment to visit the studio. See what packages they have to offer. Look at the photographs on display. On posed photographs are the expressions believable or do they look fake? Is there proper lighting? Do you like the construction of the album? Are the people you meet with courteous, professional, clean? Ask around town, does this studio have a good reputation. All in all, you get what you pay for. Keep that in mind. Your wedding day isn't the dress rehearsal. my friend teresa is a photographer..shes from north jersey....she charges about a grand for a full day....then usually is willing to just give you a cd of the pics so you can print them yourself....thats the cheapest way to go....and the cheapest prints you can get are from costco! here is her email smileyter@aol.com send her an email...and she'll send you a quote |
