Why do wedding photographers charge so much? |
Why do wedding photographers charge so much? because it suits them because they know you want the pictures. Because of all the crap they have to deal with. Demanding brides, snotty children, etc...... because people actually pay whatever they ask. Depending on the service it will be the amount of time they need to put into each job/wedding. Equipment is another high cost and initial set-up costs would run into thousands for the photographer. Taking the photos & having them developed is the cheepest part of the job. A whole day of taking photos, a day of sorting through the negatives/proofs/a day of mounting images/time discussing requirements from customer/insurance/vehicle/new equipment/materials etc - it all adds up. Saying this though, there are some photographers that charge well above anything that is acceptable! cause u want the pics Because they can! They commercialize on the emotion of the experience and then with their craft, immortalize the day. Do you know that even Wal-Mart's cheap do-it-yourself developing is about 3 times what it costs to develop film at home? You'd be better off asking a friend who has a good eye to do your pics. Make a list of the shots you want (suggestions easily found online!) and have them take 3-400 pictures. Use digital and after downloading, pick the ones you wants and have them printed. You can always pay a pro TONS less to mount them professionally in a gold-edged album or you can do it yourself if you enjoy scrapbooking. Good luck! |
