What kind of schooling do you need to become a photographer? |
A wedding photographer and portraiture photographer? The four best schools in the US will teach you much more than just wedding (event) and portraiture photography. They will start you out with the fundamentals of exposure, development and printing before you ever get to the Wedding/Portrait part. You will probably be using a 4x5 view camera for at least the first six months (twelve at the one I attended) and will learn some photojournalism, scientific/industrial, advertising and wedding/portraiture. If you have read this far and are ready to start some kind of school, then here is a list of the top four. Art Center, Pasadena, California Brooks Institute of Photography, Santa Barbara, California Cal Arts, (California Institute of the Arts Valencia, California Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, New York Source(s): http://www.artcenter.edu/ http://www.brooks.edu/ http://www.calarts.edu/ http://www.rit.edu/ Editorial, sports and glamour photographer. There are all kinds of schools. From high school to private. I have been a pro. photographer for close to 40 years. I still go to classes and seminars to learn more. In the past 6-7 years, I have been doing forensic photography, and legal video. Very interesting. The video part I do is record depositions. Whatever you choose, I wish you the best of luck. BTW, I have shot many weddings, and I can't stand them. (But they do pay good.) turedude53>'s Profile" href="/my/profile;_ylt=AvQQu5KfsX2VaZ4khYzS.QWNxQt.;_ylv=3?show=ff772a25081c886385c2eb6a501e148aaa"> by http://www.brooks.edu/ |
