I am writing an article for a magazine. Would this be helpful to you as a bride looking for a photographer?

The article addresses the search for a wedding photographer and is located at:

Thanks guys and gals.

Proud to be 51 is correct about the grammatical errors. If you double check it all (perhaps copy / paste it into word and then use the spelling and grammar tool) it will lend credibility to your article... the worst thing in the world is to have a great article ruined with grammatical errors.

Also, in either 9 or 10 you should insist that the couple CAREFULLY READ the contract before they ever sign it... they need to know exactly how many hours are covered and what overtime will cost, they need to know if they will be charged for additional rolls should the photographer shoot more pictures than they anticipated (got a bad shot, so they took another... this shouldn't be on the couple to pay for it, but some photographers will do it anyway), they should know how many photographers they will get, whether they will need to feed the photographers, travel expenses, etc. DO NOT let them get duped because you forgot to tell them to be VERY THOROUGH in reading their contracts... this is probably the biggest thing in ANY purchase, but often it is the most overlooked and therefor bears repeating. I lost interest after the first paragraph. Are you still in high school? Develop your writing style.
Step 2 should be "sticking to your budget" instead of "stick to your budget". Also, same Step - it should be "and hiring an expensive wedding" instead of "and hiring a expensive wedding"

Sorry if that seems nit-picky, part of my job is reviewing documents for errors.

It's really not bad, you give a lot of good information. I feel it could be helpful...

Good luck!
It sounds pretty good.
The bride and groom should make sure they have their own list of questions. My friend had a photographer (female) show up in black cropped pants and a white (pretty ratty) t-shirt. This was a night wedding, pretty formal. I would have been mortified. I asked all my vendors what their customary outfit for a night wedding would be.

Also, one of the best tips my father gave me....ask for a contact of a wedding (or event) that the photographer RECENTLY (withing the last couple of weeks) photographed. This way, the client's memory is fresh and it's not a sugar-coated letter of recommendation. Most likely, they will give you their true experience. That's something you want to know. You don't want the photographer (or any vendor) to hand pick his references from his whole experience, of course they're only going to pick the ones who rave. You have to go into it knowing both sides.
