How much do you tip the Vendors (DJ, Photographer, Videographer, Matradee, ect) at your wedding? I am a professional photographer, and I don't ever expect a tip and neither should the other people that you have hired to perform a service. The price that they have asked you to pay should be the only compensation they receive. The only thing that I would suggest is make sure your caterer is paying the waitstaff a decent pay rate, and you might possibly pay extra but only if that is passed on to the waitstaff. Source(s): Myself Usually its 10%. 15% if they are really good. Over here in Orlando, Florida...Law says we have to tip 20% no matter what....... Most of the vendors have preset amounts already added into their costs. I would not tip them at all unless they have went WELL over the call of duty. Bartenders usually get extra tips for service, but once again gratuity is already included in the bill. There should also never even be a hint by a vendor asking for tips or extra either, since your contract specifically states how much is due and when it is due by. My friend got married last year and I was her maid of honour and got everything about her wedding. You don't have to tip them a thing, at lest where my friend went you don't. Only tip if the service went above and beyond the call of duty. i know for photographer's they are already have a set price for what they feel they should be paid for the amount of work they will be doing for the wedding. Now...if you extremely like the work they provided and feel they did a superb job you can then send them a check as a "thank you". I was a wedding planner for my best friends' wedding and I sent the photographer another $100 as a thank you for an excellent job. Videographer we did not have since it is so hard to get those to look decent. We didn't want to chance having a trashy looking video. |
