Should we give the DJ and Photographer dinner or hors doeuvres at our wedding? |
The reception hall for our wedding said we have a choice of giving our dj and photographer either dinner, at about $77 each, or hors deouvres at $25 each (apparently we choose one or the other, not both). We're willing to pay for either, but what is the normal thing to offer? I love the fact that you're thinking of your vendors. It's very gracious and kind, not to mention polite, of you to offer something to eat to your vendors, especially if they're going to be working your wedding for more than 4 or 5 hours. Many brides don't offer their vendors anything. I'd ask the photographer which they'd prefer. Hors deovers may be eaiser for them to eat while working, but may not be enough. They may prefer a full meal. The DJ most likely will only be working the reception and may not need a full meal. My sister and I fed all our vendors at our weddings. In our family food is always part of big celebrations and everyone is welcome to eat. We feed everyone. Source(s): I'm a wedding vendor (makeup artist). Usually they are given meals but it does not have to be a full service meal like your guests. Personally I am giving our photographer the same meal as everyone else since we are getting an awesome deal on the food(about 7.00 per plate) but you don't have to provide a full meal for vendors...the hors doeuvres should be fine! I am a photographer and I suggest that you do not need to feed either the photograpger or the DJ at your wedding reception. If they are doing their jobs thay should be busy and should not have time to eat. Professional experience since 1967 You can chose to offer them meals or not. The best way is to call them and ask if they take a meal break during their time. Most of the time photgraphers and DJs don't have time to eat because most of them are working while you are eating. Honestly, I advise most of my clients not to provide them dinner meals unless you just want to be overly nice. Yet, I would give them the hors doeuvres because they pop into the mouth and keep moving. You do not want them to be distracted from their job by eatting. |
