I absolutely LOVE the fact that I had my wedding photo's put on cd instead of printed... I was able to email them to friends, not wait for printing!!! and create mini albums (that cost NOTHING to have printed) for my close family!!!

Look into it...

A really great website for creating your own albums is www.momento.com.au and it's so damn cheap - I did my own with their special program thingy that you down load. It's not for the faint hearted and took me FOREVER to do but I really enjoyed doing it... Kinda like scrap booking but on a computer screen!!!
Call and ask the photographer for a price check for both.
Yes because of the fact that if you buy actual prints from him he's charging you for his paper his ink and all of that crap. And it would be much easier on him to put the pictures on a data disc than print out single prints. But the downfall to putting them on a cd is the fact that, the images are copyrighted and cannot be reprinted at most scanner places to make good quality pics but you can still print them out on your home printer. But like I said you lose the quality.
If the images are the original hi-res (whether it be raw or high .jpeg formats) then yes. You can print out as many as you want. You can go to the print shop of your choice and make your wedding album the way you want it and the way you like it.
It depends but make sure the images are high resolution (not just email quality) and you can actually use, copy and print them and that they have no watermark, etc. Some will put these things on to annoy you so you have to go back to them and give them a chance to charge you more money. Make sure you read the agreement carefully before signing with them!!
Why not ask the photographer? Many photographers will not sell you the digital photos, they will make you pay an arm and a leg for the prints. You will have to check with your photographer if buying a disk is even an option.
I paid $8500 for our photographers for our wedding. We had two for color photos, two for balck and whites and another just going around taking pictures of everything. We got a huge album, all 5 of them for 12 hours, and then we got the negatives, all the proofs, and a copy of them on CD. We got it all. The presidential package I think it was called. Guess what we show to everyone when they come to our house? The CD. You cannot go wrong with it, because there will be pictures that you may not like but someone else loves, and this will allow them to have the opportunity to have a copy for themselves. Get the negatives if at all possible(if your photographer uses film). We wouldve saved a bundle had we just gotten the digital package, but since my brother in law is a professional photographer( he works with Anne leibovitz) he had to have the best.
