Need advice from wedding photographers...PLEASE? |
i am trying to start a wedding photography business and am not sure where to start...i already have the equipment, business cards, and experience...i am stumped as to what to do now to get customers...i do not have many friends and all the ones i have are already married so they are not good word of mouth as we call it...i am just wondering if anyone knows how to get my name out there and get a little business...any advice would be appreciated...also if anyone knows where to sell stock photography that would be helpful also...i plan on opening a studio someday as thats where i truely love photography but at this time do not have the funding to do it... Advertising, advertising, advertising. start by taking photos of things and show them to wedding designers they might recommend you or put an ad in the paper Put your name in at the local catering halls or banquet halls or places where receptions are held and they may suggest you to couples renting their facilities. Attend bridal shows. Leave info at rental shops for formal wear. Post some of your work at a local cafe or city library etc. Good luck to you. Beside word of mouth.... I have a totally free Myspace account and I add at least 20 people a day and I have gotten lots of work from there including weddings. Start shooting for an existing studio until you build up enough work of your own. Participate in local bridal shows. Advertise in local bridal magazines. There are some bridal websites that promote vendors. Hand out business cards to everyone you come into contact with. Get brochures made up especially for the bridal shows. Advertise on Craigslist for your area. |
