Can anyone reccomend a reasonably priced wedding photographer in the Burnham/Slough/London area?

My sister is getting married in November and has been quoted 拢1450 for a photographer a CD of his pictures and 4x5 prints of up to 300 of them.

I have a lot of photographer friends who work in fashin etc and all agree that this is a ridiculous price.

Can anyone reccomend a betterservice than this?

Then perhaps you should see how much some of your photographer friends would charge to do it and hire them.

Not meaning to sound rude, but wedding photography prices are all over the map. I do think the price quoted to you is rather high for no more than you are receiving. A CD cost nothing, and 4x5 prints can be had very cheaply also.

Now of course you have to consider the photographer is giving you all his work, he has NO control of what might be done with those photos, and his reputation is on the line. Many photographers will not give hi res photos on CD for this very purpose.

There is only ONE way to obtain your photography. You MUST meet with the photographer, look at their samples, and just see if you get along with him / her as a person. Even if they are a great photographer, you do not want some cranky jerk at your wedding all day. Be sure you like their personality as much as their photography.

I would recommend you not consider any photographer who does not offer any type of high end albums. That is one of the true dividing lines between an amateur and a professional. A pro will have working knowledge and relationships with vendors to provide beautiful flush mount collage albums, the amateur will only be able to offer you cheap prints stuck into a plastic sleeved album available from anywhere.

You do not always get what you pay for with photography. There are WAY too many people with cameras who THINK they are photographers and charge lots of money for mundane output. Then there are some really gifted photographers who will do great work for you and not charge an arm and a leg.

So again, you just have to shop around and weigh the product / cost ratio and go with what fits you best. I always try to tell future brides to never wait until the last minute to find their photographer, because it can often be one of the most difficult parts of wedding planning.

Good luck, wish you were here near me in the US, as I would love to photograph your wedding.
