What did you find as the best way to find a wedding photographer?

I am representing a new wedding photographer with 30+ year experience, and want to know the best places brides and grooms visit when trying to find someone they like.

The photographer has worked for a top magazine for 30+ years and has done over 40 covers, and is just getting into the wedding photography business - I want to know where best to market him and his excellent work. Chicago area.

I am a professional wedding videographer in the New Jersey and PA areas, and I find the best method of advertising is theknot.com... it can be a bit pricey but you get many qualified leads from the website. Of course, marketing wise, word of mouth will be your best bet, but you have to get your business going before this will kick in. Give a great service, and exceed the expectations of your client, and your business will continue to grow.

I looked on http://www.craigslist.org for photographers. I was able to find a really good deal for an excellent photographer.

My photographer works with Pictage.com its a really unique photography website and you can search for and order pics directly from them! I love it!!

Well, first, I went to the Las Vegas board on the knot and asked for recommendations. Then I contacted different photographers for their price list. I also second pictage.com. Our photographer is on there and it allows for references.

I actually found my photographer through my mom's best friends daughters wedding. She used the one I am using. He did great work for her pictures, so I went with him. SO, mainly word of mouth. But, I also think bridal shows are great ways as well
