I am very unhappy with my wedding photographer photograph proofs?

We hired a really expensive really well known photographer in our area for our super huge wedding. I'm not happy with alot of the photographs. there was only one photo of us sitting at the dias.. and like fifty of my teenage sister doing modeling shots!

I don't know what to do. I'm supposed to pick out 100 for a wedding album. I don't even think there are a hundred that I like!

I have been so excited about these photos but can't believe how disappointed I am. The shots he took of just myself look like ****! But the gazillion of my younger sister are fabulous! Except she wasn't the one who paid a few grand and got **** on in return!

Anyone have a similar experience? I feel horribly depressed because there is nothing I can do and it's all over now.

BTW the shots he took of my sister are like gorgeous fashion shots. My shots look like total ***.

Complain complain and keep complaining. Tell everyone you know how crappy your pics turned out. This totally happened to one of my friends and they ended up getting a complete refund on their pics. You may have to just pick out the pics that look okay that you want in order to have some memories of the day ... but definately demand that you want some of your money back. Did you guys go through a checklist of what you wanted him to take pics of. If you did , I would definately bring that up. This is such a sucky situation, you pay so much money for pics that are supposed to be beautiful and that you can look at for the rest of your life and this is what happens. Also, ask around to all of your guests, maybe they got some good shots. So sorry this happened to you. Best of luck

Maybe you are just not happy with how you look. Many people feel like they look horrible in the mirror and in photos. In reality, they look perfectly fine and natural. Get your husband's opinion and maybe you will see that this is true.

There is not much you can do. Unless the photos are blurry, unfocused or have bad lighting (as in the room was bright, but photo was dark), then there is not much you can do.

Perhaps, you are more fixated on the fact that your sister took over the camera. Get over it. I'm sure your pictures are not as bad as they seem.

I don't know the relationship you have with your sister or what either of you look like. But, could you be jealous that your sister is more youthful and photogenic than you. If that's the case and jealous is fueling your anger, there is not much you can do.

If you feel inferior to your sister, of course you are going to say your sister looks gorgeous and you look like crap.

Get over yourself, toss the pics of you sister aside and look more carefully at yourself. I'm sure you look radiant on your wedding day, but you are letting your feelings about your sister tell you otherwise.

If has little to do with the photographer. The photographer can't control the fact that you sister (or other people) might be better in front of the camera. The photograhper (unless you told him), did know you had an issue with comparing your looks to your sister's.

This is not the photographer faults. I photographer horribly, I always end up making a face. That's no one problem, but my own.

You can check the contract but chances are that you are SOL. Your only hope is to negotatie down since you aren't going to use all 100 prints.

It's probably 50% your fault because you aren't happy with yourself and 50% the photographer for concentrating a little too much on guests. But unless something is grossly wrong with the photos (ie improperly developed) most won't include a "I don't like them" clause because then every bride would start complaining to get money back. Talk with the photographer POLITELY, not in a whining fashion like you are right now, and let him know your concerns. Perhaps he will be willing to do another shoot with you and your fiancee to correct the problem.

Unfortunately you sound like one of those brides who equate dollars with quality and ended up paying for it. This is why I tell brides to demand to see a wedding from start to finish uneditied so they can tell if their photographer is as good as their portfolio makes it appear.

Man that stinks I'm so sorry...there's not a lot you can do now that they have been paid, you just have to pick the ones you like, if the photographer has a website with comments that others can read I'd do a "brides beware" type thing. I have had so many people tell me their horror stories with professional photographers...my nieces-the guy stood in the balcony and you got a nice view up everyone's noses, another friends were so blurry you could not tell who was who...sadly it's buyer beware..maybe find a friend who has a good digital camera and see if they will go with you and your hubby and take pictures of you guys, it may not be in the full wedding day attire but maybe you'll get some good shots to help you remember your day.
