Are you supposed to feed the Photographer at your wedding?

Are you supposed to feed the Photographer at your wedding?

Yes.. <*-*>

Would you want to work 6 - 8 hours without a sandwich and a soda?

It is not necessary to order a five course meal for the photographer, BUT it is a kind and thoughtful Bride and Groom who makes sure that their DJ and photographer and videographer are well taken care of. Many of the hotels and banquet halls will have a "club sandwich and soda" special for wedding professionals.

Yes because they will be with you all day and they don't get a half hour to leave and run to McD's because they will miss out on photo opportunities. Also, like any other person on the job, they do need to refuel so that their work quality stays the same from beginning to end. If you were working 8-10 hrs, you'd expect to be allowed to eat so give them the same courtesy. Many caterers offer vendor meals that are discounted and are simple enough (sandwich and chips) that they can eat and run. Read the fine print of the contract you signed since it may be in there that you are required to feed them.

10 points for actually thinking of the photographer. Most wouldnt...Minus 6 for having to ask. You dont have to do anything..you dont want. Who's expectations are you trying to fulfill. Basically, it is a kind gesture. Dont be upset if they take you up on it either..
Im sure they would appreciate the offer, they may not need it/ they may... it. Its no skin off your nose really..they dont have to sit down and eat, you can offer them 'something' though.
I personally couldnt go a whole day without eating. My wheels wouldve fallen off after 5 hours.....and if you want wedding photos without all the heads cut off, i suggest you do.
At least offer. Its the decent thing to do..and while youre at it at least a few glasses of water or a beer later. They will need it after 3 hours of photographing you and another 4 hours of photographing piissed iidiots.
Hope it goes well...

My photographer in the contract didnt say anything about supplying drinks and food to him nor his assistant, in the other hand the band did demand it. But still my mom told them to feel free to take coctels if they want them and she told them to grab food at the buffet time... Im not sure if they did but my mom did came to them to offer.

Yes. If you were working for 8 hours straight, don't you stop for a meal?
Many venues offer a less expensive meal you can buy for the photographer, DJ, and other "hired help".

As an aside- - if your photographer passed out from not eating, how good is their work going to be?

I would because they are doing you a service and the service is always better when the server is happy, and besides it would be the polite thing to do.

Yes this should be offered. You will want to work with him however on the scheduling. I know some photogprahers will decline the offer because they want to have that time away from ceremony for a few minutes.

This may help.

It's customary, but it's up to the discretion of the bride and groom. Most feed their photographer. Good luck.

Yes, they'll be following you around all day. They usually eat when the couple sits down to eat. Don't need pictures of that!

yes, they're working for you for like 8 hours, through mealtimes. feed the DJ also.

hello he is working for you this is good thing and why did u asked this q becoz he is going to take ur wedding pics ull not serve him hell be upset not work willingly

I would at least offer, but he is there to do a job and most likely won't take you up on it.

Yes as well as your entertainment and the priest if he comes to the reception.

It would be nice if you offered him to eat. Make sure he's full so he can take wonderful pictures of you and your husband!

yea and why not feed the guests also

yes. and the dj. and any other vendor you have hired.

It would be a nice gesture.

Yes, of course.

Yes you should, and the DJ/band too.

If he is hungry

no you dont but it is nice to make the offer xx

Yes, but I have read in some magazines while you do need to feed them, you don't have to feed them what everyone else is eating. You could order a pizza for the people like that to eat.

No.But if you are happy to let him share your feast then by all means let him eat.
