Wedding: Photographer and Video?

If youve had a wedding or just know...
Can anyone give me some prices on how much it would cost to:
video tape: one hour for the
wedding, three hours for the reception, total 4 hours.

How much it would be for a dvd or video, and photos
(any estimation please!)

well even though i'm not doing video I know that here in nyc The least you expect to pay for a video is $1000.
My photographer was $1500 but they range from about $800 dollars to $4000 depending on who you go to.

I'm not sure about prices on professional video and photography but I know that it can get very pricey. I can, however make a suggestion. Instead of hiring a professional check amongst your friends and family to see if one of them can video record it with their camera. Then buy a bunch of those one time use disposable cameras and put them at all of the reception tables. Like one for every 6-8 chairs at a table and have your guests take pictures of the wedding and reception. This way you get pictures of everyone and everything at several different angles and it won't cost you an arm and a leg for it. It's a way to include the guests in things. Then it'll be fun developing them to see what pictures the guests have taken for you. You'll be more likely to get a picture of everyone who attends your wedding this way as well and in all the hustle of all the events you may miss out on some things going on that will be captured on the cameras. Plus you will most likely be able to tell who took what pictures by seeing who is in them. Just a fun idea. I know that this doesn't really give you an answer to your question of how much a professional would charge but I know this will be much more affordable not to mention more on a personal level.

prices change based on the the day of the wedding. saturday's are typically more expensive.
