How your wedding photographer?

How to choose the right one? I will be spending an entire day in the company of this person! And fabulous wedding photos are so IMPORTANT!

Here are some good sites to check out in regards of questions to ask your photographer. The one question that I thought was really important is what would happen if they were to get sick? Always good to know they have a back up...and of course make sure you meet/talk with them in person. I knew right away that I loved our photographer because I immediately felt comfortable with her.

Establish a detailed plan with your photographer 鈥?remember you will be spending an entire day in the company of this person on what will probably be one of your most stressful days of your life. Check out examples of the photographer鈥檚 work beforehand and meet with them personally.

Trust your photographer 鈥?they have photographed countless weddings and already know instinctively which shot or pose will or won鈥檛 work. Some of their suggestions or requests might not make sense on the day, but you will appreciate their creativity when you see the final photos.

There are different styles of wedding photography 鈥?give your photographer a proper brief about what type of photographs you are looking for. The more detail a photographer has to work with, the closer the end result will be to what you imagined.

Examine the photographer鈥檚 portfolio 鈥?is it the best shots of all their weddings combined or do they have shots of a single wedding to show you what you can typically expect. Look to see if there is detail in the bride鈥檚 dress. Don鈥檛 be afraid to ask questions.

I got a friend introduced a photographer to me for my wedding. He is very reasonably priced and has been nothing but the best to deal with. He is very understanding and great about keeping in contact with you and meeting up with you to discuss ideas etc. Out of every-one I've had to deal with in organising my wedding (florists, venue hire, catering etc) he has by far outshined them all. Recommendations. Then view their work. I remember selecting my photographer and then seeing friends wedding pictures and thinking yikes!
However, in the big scheme of things, its really not that big a deal. I know it seems tantamount now. But its not. Your money would be better spent by hiring a mid-range photographer and saving the rest. Best wishes.
