Do I tip my wedding officiant?

I am paying for a wedding package that is about $450 which includes the outdoor ceremony the officiant, photographer, marriage license and certificate. The priest is part of a church, but we are not marrying on the church site. I read that it is rude to tip officiants, while others say to tip at least $50. For paying for this package, should I tip him or the photographer for what will seem like a 20 minute (tops)ceremony?

It's appropriate to write the priest a check for his church, even though you're not getting married there.

My dad is a pastor and he does not charge for weddings. However, peopel tend to give him smalls gifts as a token of their appreciation. Sometimes he gets gift cards to take my mom out to dinner. Other times if the people know him they give a personal gift, something he is interested in. Consider a gift card or donation to the church.

I would tip the officiant and the photographer.
We did a cheapie JOP who only charged $50 and we gave him an extra $25.

I just thought it was appropriate to tip those folks. Even if it is only $20, its something.

i would give him something, even $25, for his church. unless he screws up on the ceremony really bad...
