Need student photographer to take pictures of my wedding for free or small fee?

im getting married in march and i have a tiny budget so im looking for a student photographer that is willing to build their portfolio , and do it for free or a minimal charge

let me know if ur interested or i you know of somone in the LA area who would like to do so!

Go to craigslist.com and search for photography or photographer under services. In the area I live (SF Bay Area) they have tons of ads with students offering their photo services for little or no money. A lot of times they have portfolio's as well. That would definitely be the best resource.
If you have a hard time there maybe you could go to your local college and talk with one of the teachers/professors of the photography department. Maybe they know of a talented student that can do it.

Please don't solicit for someone's services here - you'd be far better off going to L.A.'s craigslist or to a nearby university or community college and posting an ad on their bulletin boards. Also, if there's a college of arts close by that's a good place to start too.

Even if they elect to do the wedding for free or nearly free, please reimburse the person for film and then get the developing done yourself.

Why not try calling a local college? Contact someone in the Photography/Art Department. They will be able to recommend a student who shows exceptional talent.

I would not trust Craigslist or anything. Anyone can claim to be a "good student photographer", but you never know the truth.

I think a professor at a local university will be able to give you someone who truly knows what they are doing.

At our college in the Art Department there are constantly flyers for exactaly what you are looking for. Make up a "flyer" and post it in the school. Or call them and let the head of the dept. know what you are looking for, there are ALWAYS students looking for this kind of thing!
ALSO, put an ad on craigslist. In the Gigs section, the creative section, wherever you want it!

Hi. Check your local colleges and universities to see if they have a photography major curriculum. If they do, there is a good chance that you can post a notice on a bulletin board (or two!) describing what you are looking for.

Another option is to post a announcement on your local Craigslist. I just gave this idea to someone the other night and it worked out for her. (She was looking for a photographer for only an hour or so for a small beach wedding.) She posted it on Craigslist and found someone right away!

I'm not a student, but depending on your small fee, I'll consider. Send me an e-mail, or contact me on my site. (seriously, if I'm open, I'll consider working for a small fee). I love to take photos, even when I don't get paid a lot.

That's fairly daring. The wedding pics you will have forever, but if you do.... rent a very high pixel camera... like 12 mega pixels. That way when you have the pics you'll be able to edit them/crop them anyway you like and still have a quality picture.

what i heard was that going to local colleges was a great way of getting student photographers for a wedding you should do that. good luck

Man to bad your not in texas id do it cheap cheap all i need is wedding photos and ill have a full portfolio!

Do you mean Louisiana or Los Angeles? I am a student photographer and would do your wedding for free just so I can get more pics for my portfolio....

Try posting on Craigslist. You'll likely get a better response there.
