Would you use her as your wedding photographer?

5 hours for $895
(seems like a good price but I don't know if I will be happy with the quality vs quantity of the pics......any thoughts?)

http://gigglegallery.smugmug.com/Your%20...

she may not be the most talented and I do want great photos

how do I find another photographer?

to find a photographer.. Go to...
http://www.weddingwire.com/
I love that site, it is actually where I found my photographer!! What state do you live in?
Good Luck!

The price is okay, but the quality is not. There were no "money shots", nothing really creative or special. They missed a great opportunity by a reflecting pool that was behind them the whole time.

The lighting wasn't very good either, a lot of "hot spots" on the faces. And most shots were very grainy.

Keep checking Photographer's web sites, and don't forget to check with your local chamber of commerce for members, check with your reception hall or caterer for referrals too.

No. Composition is lousy, most of the shots are taken from to far away, nothing special about the settings at all, just plain old photos. I could have taken them!

Take it from someone who knows, don't skimp on the photographer. Skimp on the band or DJ (to a degree), maybe thin out the cake a bit, but the photos are what you will take with you for the rest of your life. If they are not good, you will always regret it when you look at them, if they are good, you will treasure the memories for the rest of your life.

Shop around, ask around, look into it a bit more.

IMHO

They say 5 hours, but how many pictures do you end up with? 10 and hour? 50 and hour?
The price doesn`t seem toooo bad if you get a big variety of pictures, but looking at some of their other bridal pictures, some are so dark, the bride is in the shadows, or some are nice and bright, but it looks like a regular home camera took it! The dark ones are the ones that really concerned me. A professional should have the proper light source...
...How do you find a good photographer? If you don`t have someone that anyone you know personally can recommend, time to hit the phone book & do some leg work and visit and see their work examples.

I know a photographer who charges about that much to take wedding photos. And her prices are about right for those kinds of photos...But the thing is those people up there are right. You get what you pay for.
If you want quality photos then you'll probably have to cough up more money. Maybe look for a photographer who is just beginnning the business who can show you she/he can take the type of photographs you want and are willing to work cheaper than their competitors to build up clientele...
ask around. People know photograhpers and can refer them. Call those people and ask ask ask!!! Good luck!

She has no sense of composition. There are some shots which are actually good. But it seems like they were accidental. Also, the photo quality and settings look like they could have come from any point and shoot camera. She does not know how to use her camera to its fullest potential. She needs to take some classes before she can legitimately charge $179 an hour and call it professional.

The pictures looked amateur. Actually, I know amateurs that do better. Honestly, the photo quality is terrible. The pictures that should be light are too dark, vice versa. I would shop around. And I would certainly not pay $900 bucks for someone that doesn't know their way around a camera to take my wedding photos.

I wouldn't use her, a lot of the angles are weird and she is really bad with lighting, at least in my opinion.

www.modelmayhem.com is a free website for models and photographers to find work. I have been using it as a model for years and I always meet great photographers. I would sign up (it is 100% free) and see if you can't find a photographer in your area.

Some of the people on the website just do it as a hobby and others have studios ect. Worth a shot at least!

You can also try craigslist.com (under the artists section).

Also try doing it the old fashion way with a phone book.

THAT SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD PRICE BUT YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER THAT YOU CAN RECREATE THOSE MEMORIES FROM THAT DAY AND WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU HATE THE WAY THEY ALL COME OUT THEN YOU WON'T HAVE ANY GOOD PICS FROM YOUR WEDDING.....MY MOM WENT FOR THE CHEAPER PRICE ON SOME GUY AND THE PICS CAME OUT HORRIBLE SHE HAD TO GET ALL DRESSED UP A YEAR LATER AND PAY MORE MONEY FOR PICTURES..........PERSONALLY AND THIS IS WHAT I DID FOR MY WEDDING WE PAID GOOD MONEY FOR GOOD QUALITY AND I AM HAPPY WE DID IT BECAUSE IT TURNS OUT THAT IF THE PHOTOGRAPHER HAD SUCKED NONE OF MY FAMILY TOOK ANY GOOD PICS SO I WAS GLAD WE SPENT THE MONEY AND GOT BEAUTIFUL PICS......I HOPE THIS HELPS AND CONGRATS

Seems like she takes great photos. Something I saw at a wedding I attended was that each guest got a disposable camerae, and they got to take pictures of the wedding. Then the bride and groom collected them. They had great photos, and it meant a lot more because the guest took them.

The photos all appear that shes new to the business and very unprofessional....like she just bought a pricey camera and though oh now I can make a business....

However......if you like the images her price is definitely affordable. But keep in mind you get what you pay for.

I don't see anything wrong with the pictures except quite a few don't seem to be centered on the picture.I guess after they are cropped and touched up they would be better. If you are having second thoughts then maybe you should try and find someone else.

Looking at a variety of her photos, I'd say they look like something you snap with your own camera. Very amateurish.
If you re-post where you are, someone may be able to help by giving you referrals.

I think the pictures look very nice...but what is the package you're getting? The number/sizes of prints, whether or not you also get them on CD to print yourself...those things make a difference.

It does SOUND like a great deal, though.

Those photos are actually pretty bad. I wouldnt waste almost $900 on them.
Keep looking for a photograhper: yellow pages, recommendations from other wedding vendors, Craigslist. And dont limit your search to your town only. Lots of photographers will travel.

Honestly, her photos appear pretty amateur to me.

Good photographers aren't cheap, but I think you can do better.

Edit: Try joining theknot.com and asking on your local board. Also, try looking on www.pictage.com.

honestly...no! i browsed through the pictures and the poor quality turned me off immediately. thats a great price but if u can, you should invest in a person more professional.
