What is the reasonable price for 2 photographers for a wedding?

I wanted to know what is an average cost for using 2 photographers for a wedding, and if the 2nd photographer is extra and how much? but mainly just how much is the average reasonable cost to hire 2 photographers to a wedding?

well yea the other i guess would be an assistant but it would still be 2 photographers, so what would be the price for the 2 photographers who would be taking pictures to capture different views of the wedding and , how much would it be for both of them, cause it would be two taking pictures?

I would say you are looking at about $2,500 minimum for a photographer and their assistant or second shooter. Don't be surprised if it is in the $4,000 -$5,000 range though. You can probably find one cheaper but I would make sure you review their portfolio in prints and the portfolio of a more expensive photographer before you hire them. Beginners will often charge less to help build up their portfolios. These prices probably will not include any prints but they may include a proof book.

The prices are generally calculated like this.
The wedding day. The photographer and there assistant will work 10-12 hours that day. So about 20 hours in total.
Post production: The photographer will probably spend about 10-15 hours sorting and editing the photos. They will then prepare a proof book or CD for you.

In total you are talking about $30-35hrs worth of work. In order to stay in business they need to charge between $100 and $150 dollars an hour. So while it seems like a lot of money you plumber or electrician would charge about the same as an hourly rate.

If you want a videographer you can expect to pay about the same.

I intern as an assistant for a wedding photographer. She charges $1000 for three hours of work, or $5000 for the whole day. As the assistant, I barely ever get to shoot. I usually help her by setting up and carrying the equipment while I follow her around. If we have all the shots we need before the end of the day, we both get to carry around our own cameras and play. With wedding photography, it is important to get the perfect lighting... so I suggest the second photographer be the assistant, or you'll have to hire two assistants.

In the Phoenix area this is what you could expect to pay

One photographer to show up shoot: $2,000 to $3,000 .. this includes 3-4 hours of shooting and prints are provided at the prices agreed upon at the time the contract is signed.

Two photographers (one to shoot video): $5,000 and up .. again no prints are included and the edited video is extra as well.

Why do you need 2 photographers? One should suffice with an assistant. I used to charge around $400 a day just to shoot the job. Now it is arounf $500. Assistants get paid around $100-$150. It also depends on the level of the photographer and experiance.

It depends on the photographers and the package you get. I would say 1000-1500 for a decent one.
