Wedding.... Please help! Can all photographers do this or do I need a special software?

I want the dvd slideshows to be like this (with different sizes photos on one page, etc)

I'm not sure which photographers offer this service, but...

I would recommend making one yourself. I made mine with "Nero" and I was very pleased with the results, especially because it was my first ever attempt at making anything like this. The "Nero" software I used was free, however you can pay for a commercial grade of the same software if you choose.

The free version I used allowed me to select from different "photo transitions" as the show moved from picture to picture. Multiple images and different image sizes were not a problem. I could also set the show to music, add text effects that appeared like "transparent flash animations" over the images.

The quality of the finished product was remarkable. The fact that it was created by me makes it "unbelieveable".

Custom menu's and scene selections, much like DVD Movies were all created by the software. The "project" can be viewed and changed if needed before burning it to a disk. "Saved Projects" can be easily copied to a disk without having to re-create the Slide-Show.

You really have to create one for yourself to truly appreciate how well this software works. I'm sure you can take your photo's to a studio to have a professional Slide-Show created if you are unhappy with the results. But this software helps you to achieve professional results, is easy to use, and the Slide-Show is fun to create.

I have been visiting a lot of photographer websites for my own upcoming wedding and I do not believe they all use this style. A good tip is if their website shows a photo gallery in this style then they obviously have the knowledge to create it, if they have a basic handmade website then they most likely are not computer savy. I would definitely inquire when requesting estimates and proposals. You also could take your photos if given to you on disc and take it somewhere to be put in a Quicktime format. Any web design savy person can put this together for you. You may be able to even do yourself with the propert Quicktime software package.

You can do this with powerpoint or windows movie maker. I just did a slide show similar for my mom's memorial. It is so easy to do.

Most photographers can do this, you need to ask in advance, if the one you choose cannot you may need to find someone else.

I recommend you use Photo Story Platinum to create your own wedding slideshow.
