Photographer?!?!?!?!?

i have been VERY interested in photography for a couple of years now! and im planning on becoming a photographer myself! i would just like a little more infrmation on a photographer whos been through it all!!!!!!
would a Canon EOS-350D be able to do the job? how does one acually become a BRILLIENT photographer? just basic facts of the life of a photographer!!! i love my photography so it will never be regretted but i want to take it further! maybe into wedding photography!

any hint on becomeing a wedding photographer?!?!?!?!?!

I started out in photography in my early teens, always had a love for it. Ended up taking a few classes in college and fooled around and got my degree in photography. I started doing local shows and worked my way up through the ranks. Several years down the road and plenty of ribbons later, I am locally known for what I do. I won't say famous nor will I say brilliant, I work hard at it. I have a real job that pays for my photo hobby. I do do weddings when I want to. I did 15 or so last year. The thing with your camera and weddings. It's not the camera that takes the picture, it's who is behind the camera BUT at weddings, they don't want to pay someone who has the same camera as several people in the audience. If I pay money for someone to come and photograph me, they better have better equipment than I do or I am sending you home. I could do just as good of job with the rebel line, but it is a consumer grade camera. I don't want to hire someone with a consumer grade camera. Even though it can "do the job" you need to get a professional model if you are going to shoot weddings. Trust me on this. Start out with friends and family weddings and go from there. Weddings aren't for everyone and you have to have a pretty thick skin, everyone isn't going to like everything. I am scaling back on my wedding shooting this year to allow more time for the stuff I love to shoot (nature/abstracts) I only have 5. I shoot more when I need money to buy new equipment. I bought and paid for a new camera and some lenses last year, so I am set for this year. Good Luck to you. Hope I have helped.

I've seen and met several BRILLIANT photographers. No, they're not famous. But they're brilliant. They don't seek fame at all, they just do what they love to do and think with a mind of their own. The world they see through their eyes really shines in their photos.

350 will be great for you! Remember that you don't need an amazing or expensive piece of equipment, you just need to be able to have control of the manual controls and know how to use them in order to get the shot you want. It takes years of study and practise for you to know exactly what to do in an instant to get the exact shot you want. And by study, I don't mean school. I mean studying photography and the world yourself.

Get yourself some books, take in as much information as you can and explore the world around you with your camera. Try everything atleast once.

Remember that not everyone is going to love your work. Do that YOU love to do with it. Graciously except critique from experienced photographers because it will really help you out and show you things you were doing wrong that you would probably never realize by yourself.

One of many basic facts of a photographers life: Photography is art and art is about opinion. Some people won't think you're a great photographer, and some will think you're brilliant.
Carry yourself confidently, enjoy your work, and stay humble. Don't try too hard and don't take things seriously, just have fun with it!

Hope all these words help you out in some way!
