Photographer?!?!?!?!? |
i have been VERY interested in photography for a couple of years now! and im planning on becoming a photographer myself! i would just like a little more infrmation on a photographer whos been through it all!!!!!! I started out in photography in my early teens, always had a love for it. Ended up taking a few classes in college and fooled around and got my degree in photography. I started doing local shows and worked my way up through the ranks. Several years down the road and plenty of ribbons later, I am locally known for what I do. I won't say famous nor will I say brilliant, I work hard at it. I have a real job that pays for my photo hobby. I do do weddings when I want to. I did 15 or so last year. The thing with your camera and weddings. It's not the camera that takes the picture, it's who is behind the camera BUT at weddings, they don't want to pay someone who has the same camera as several people in the audience. If I pay money for someone to come and photograph me, they better have better equipment than I do or I am sending you home. I could do just as good of job with the rebel line, but it is a consumer grade camera. I don't want to hire someone with a consumer grade camera. Even though it can "do the job" you need to get a professional model if you are going to shoot weddings. Trust me on this. Start out with friends and family weddings and go from there. Weddings aren't for everyone and you have to have a pretty thick skin, everyone isn't going to like everything. I am scaling back on my wedding shooting this year to allow more time for the stuff I love to shoot (nature/abstracts) I only have 5. I shoot more when I need money to buy new equipment. I bought and paid for a new camera and some lenses last year, so I am set for this year. Good Luck to you. Hope I have helped. I've seen and met several BRILLIANT photographers. No, they're not famous. But they're brilliant. They don't seek fame at all, they just do what they love to do and think with a mind of their own. The world they see through their eyes really shines in their photos. |
